American shut its Admirals Club at MEM when C closed
The former Admirals Club in old Concourse C at Memphis International Airport is permanently closed. Since MEM consolidated into a single concourse layout, American Airlines customers now use common gates in Concourse B with no AA-branded lounge in operation.
There is no current Admirals Club anywhere in Terminals A, B, or C, and no lounge attached to American’s gates in Concourse B. The old club space from Concourse C is out of use, and it has not been rebuilt or relocated into the renovated concourse.
Day passes don’t help here: American sells zero walk-up Admirals Club access at MEM because the lounge no longer exists. Even full Admirals Club membership or qualifying elite status doesn’t change this; there’s simply no AA lounge door to walk through at this airport.
Recent FlyerTalk posts from 2024 call out that “there’s no Admirals Club here anymore – just the Delta Sky Club and the USO.” If you want lounge-style seating and you’re not military, the Delta Sky Club in Concourse B is the only traditional airline club option, and it’s limited to Sky Club‑eligible passengers.
Regular American flyers at MEM say they now grab food from concourse restaurants or quick-service spots near the B gates instead of planning on lounge snacks. Military members and their families often head to the USO in Concourse B, which effectively fills the gap for eligible travelers who used to rely on the Admirals Club.
Watch out for long layovers over two hours on AA at MEM if you’re used to parking in an Admirals Club. You’ll be in the general gate area or paying out of pocket for meals and drinks in the concourse, since there’s no way to “buy into” an AA lounge onsite.
Practical tip: if an Admirals Club visit matters for your trip, route through another AA hub with an operating club (like DFW or CLT) instead of planning a long connection at MEM.
