Farmer's Fridge

Gate-side vending fridges with real food

Farmer's Fridge at Midway sits in the Main Terminal concourses as a set of smart vending machines, stocked multiple times per day with salads, bowls, chia puddings, and snacks. You tap your card, the screen unlocks, and a chilled jar drops in under 10 seconds. It’s grab-and-go in under a minute, including payment.

Most salads and grain bowls run around $9–$13, with smaller snacks and yogurt jars closer to $5–$7. Portions land in the 12–24 oz range, and every item lists calories and ingredients right on the label. That detail helps if you’re tracking macros or avoiding specific allergens before a 3-hour Southwest hop.

The menu rotates but usually includes a Green Goddess salad, a pesto pasta or grain bowl, and at least one chicken-based option plus a vegan or vegetarian bowl. Breakfast-time you’ll often see overnight oats and chia pudding by 6:00 am, which beats hunting for a hot sandwich if you board a 7:15 am departure out of Main.

Food sits in clear plastic jars with sealed lids; shelf-life dates are printed to the day, and anything that expires gets pulled by the daily restock. Dressings sit in separate cups, so greens don’t wilt during a 4–5 hour dwell in the machine. You can easily carry a jar onto a 2-leg itinerary and eat it on your second segment.

Quick tip: grab plastic utensils and napkins from the dispenser beside the machine before you walk back to your gate; not every nearby bar at Midway keeps extras for outside food.
