The Orange Line

B · B21 ★ 4 $$$$

By gate B21, The Orange Line saves you a Central Market hike

This small train-themed bar sits right at Gate B21 in Concourse B, so you can grab a drink without trekking back to Midway’s Central Market hub. It’s post-security on the Main terminal’s B concourse, basically across from the high B-gates. Think quick stop before boarding, not a long sit-down session.

The Orange Line runs on typical airport bar pricing, with drinks around $10–$14 for beer, wine, and simple cocktails. The menu leans basic: domestic and a couple of local beers, standard mixed drinks, and a short list of bar snacks. Wine pours are standard 5 oz glasses, and you’re paying more for proximity to B20–B22 than for depth of selection.

Hours track with flight banks on Concourse B, usually opening by the first morning departures around 5:00 am and staying open into the late evening push after 9:00 pm. If you’re on a very late-night or weather-delayed departure, expect them to close closer to the last meaningful bank in the B20s rather than waiting for stragglers.

Regulars treat it as a “last-stop drink” before boarding from the B20s. The move: one beer, keep your bag with you at the bar, close out fully, and walk 30 seconds to your gate when boarding starts. If their flight goes from A or from early B (B1–B12), they usually skip this and walk back to the larger Central Market bars for more seating and broader taps.

Watch out for the size: it’s a small bar with very limited stools, and it fills fast during afternoon and evening peaks. When every seat is taken, service slows and people start stacking up around the standing rail. Beer selection is thinner than in Central Market, so if you care about craft taps, walk back toward the food court instead.

Tip: If your flight leaves from gate B18 or higher, check The Orange Line first; if every stool is taken, you still have time to walk back to Central Market without cutting it close.
