USO Lounge

Concourse C access only sums up the USO Lounge at Midway

This USO Lounge at Chicago Midway (MDW) sits on Concourse C and serves active-duty military, reservists, retirees, and their families rather than airline elites or cardholders. There’s no day pass option, no paid entry, and no Priority Pass; if you don’t have military ties and valid ID, this space simply isn’t an option.

The lounge functions more like a military-support center than a Main Terminal premium club with champagne and runway views. You come here for a quiet seat, basic snacks, and a place where uniforms and families feel expected, not for premium liquor lists or shower suites. Think reset point before or after a long TDY, not a status flex.

Entry rules are straightforward: access is limited to eligible military-connected travelers on the same day they’re flying out of or into Midway’s Main Terminal. Staff typically ask for a military ID or dependent ID along with a same-day boarding pass from any airline serving MDW, so keep those ready at the door to avoid back-and-forth.

Exact posted hours can shift with volunteer staffing, but the USO generally tracks daytime and early evening departures on Concourse C rather than running a true 24/7 schedule. If you have a 05:30 Southwest departure or land on one of the last flights of the night, don’t count on the doors being open; plan a backup spot in the concourse just in case.

Amenities sit in the “practical” lane: usually some packaged snacks, soft drinks, coffee, and seating that beats the metal rows at gates C1–C6. There’s no bar service and no paid menu, so budget-conscious junior enlisted travelers can sit and recharge without worrying about surprise charges on a government travel card.

Regulars with families often treat the space as a regroup point between Main Terminal checkpoints and the busier food courts. It’s common to see parents split duties here, with one adult taking a break on a couch while another runs to grab hot food from nearby concourse vendors before a flight out of Concourse C.

Tip: if your flight uses Concourse A or B instead of Concourse C, factor in the walk time through the Main Terminal before and after your USO visit so you’re not sprinting to final boarding at the far end of A or B.
