Bus

$2 bus ride from MCO to Downtown beats any Uber fare

Lynx Route 11 runs between Orlando International Airport and Downtown Orlando for about $2 per person, so it undercuts even the cheapest rideshare. The bus departs from the Ground Transportation Level on the A and B sides of the main terminal, so you follow signs for public buses, not shuttles or rideshare. This is a regular city bus, not an airport coach, so plan on standing room during weekday rush hours.

Service typically runs every 30 minutes during the day, with less frequent trips later at night, so check the Lynx schedule before you leave baggage claim. The ride to the downtown area usually takes around 60–70 minutes because Route 11 makes multiple local stops along Semoran Boulevard and Colonial Drive. If your time is worth more than the savings over a $35–$45 Uber to Downtown, this may feel slow.

Lynx Route 11 boards at the terminals serving gates in Terminals A and B, not Terminal C, so if you land at C you need to take the airport’s Terminal Link train back to the main A/B terminal first. Tapping a Lynx regular fare is simple: pay cash on board (exact change, around $2) or use a Lynx reloadable card if you already have one from elsewhere in the city. Drivers do not break bills, so keep small notes ready.

Route 11 connects the airport to stops along SR 436 (Semoran) and SR 50 (Colonial Drive), then into central Orlando and the downtown area. If you are heading past downtown, you will probably need a transfer to another Lynx route at a major stop like Lynx Central Station. Transfers add time, so block off at least 90 minutes door to door if you have a connection or meeting downtown.

There is no luggage hold on Lynx Route 11, and the bus uses normal front and rear doors with a few priority seating areas, so this suits one carry-on plus a backpack more than multiple 50-pound checked bags. Overhead racks are minimal and aisles narrow, which makes rolling two big suitcases awkward at busy times. If you land after 10 pm, confirm that the last Route 11 departure still fits your arrival time before you commit.

Practical tip: Before you leave the baggage carousel, pull up the latest Lynx Route 11 timetable and pin the stop named Orlando Intl Airport plus your downtown stop in your maps app, so you know both the next departure time and exactly where to get off.
