The Pitch

Gate T concourse bar with Kansas City vibes

The Pitch sits in Terminal T at MCI, set up as a bar-and-grill style spot tied to the local alt-weekly brand. It’s past security on the main T concourse, so you’re fine staying here until boarding groups start lining up. Seating runs along the bar plus a handful of high-tops; think more “quick layover stop” than long work session.

Menu leans pub: burgers, fries, salads, and basic bar snacks, with draft beer and canned options that usually include at least a couple of Kansas City names. Expect airport pricing, roughly $12–$18 for mains and $8–$12 for a beer or cocktail. Food comes out reasonably fast compared with some sit-down spots in T, so it can work on a 60–90 minute connection.

Service varies with rushes around the big banks of departures, especially in the afternoon push after 3 p.m., so build an extra 15 minutes into your plan if the barstools are full. There are power outlets along parts of the bar, but not every seat, and Wi‑Fi is just the standard airport network shared across Terminal T.

Nothing on the menu is destination dining, but The Pitch beats grabbing only a bag of chips from a newsstand if you want a real plate and a drink before a 2–3 hour flight. Best move: grab a bar seat so you can flag your check quickly when your boarding time hits.
