Cafe Nero

T3 $$$$

Shorter queues than Costa in T3 can make Nero the smarter coffee stop

This Caffè Nero sits airside in Terminal T3, past security and close to several domestic gates, and regulars mention heading here when the Costa line snakes into the concourse. Pricing runs at typical airport levels, so budget around £3–£4 for an espresso-based drink and a bit more for larger lattes or iced options.

Hours track early departures: doors usually open before the first wave of morning flights, around 4–5 a.m., and stay open into the late evening bank of Ryanair and BA departures from T3. That makes it one of the few consistent coffee options if you’ve got a 06:00 or 21:00 departure from this terminal.

Menu is the standard Nero setup: espresso, americanos, flat whites, flavoured lattes, plus pastries, panini and prepacked sandwiches, all at roughly mid-tier airport pricing (£4–£7 for most food items). If you just need caffeine before a domestic hop to London or Belfast, a straight espresso or flat white lands faster than any made-to-order food when the queue builds.

Seating is limited around this unit, with only a small cluster of tables and some stool spots near the counter, and reviews flag that you can easily end up taking your drink back to the main T3 seating near the gates. That said, several flyers note Nero’s queue is often shorter than Costa’s at similar times, which matters during the 07:00–09:00 business rush.

Regulars flying out of T3 say they automatically check Costa’s line first, then pivot to Nero if the Costa queue looks like a 15-minute wait. Watch out for the classic airport gripes here: prices higher than high street Neros and occasional waits when staff are covering both barista and till. Quick tip: if you see more than six people in front of you, order something simple (americano or latte) and skip elaborate customisations to avoid delays.
