Farmacia

T4

T4’s Farmacia keeps you flying when your meds are at home

Farmacia sits airside in Terminal T4, handy if your prescription pills are still on the nightstand in Lavapiés or La Latina. It runs typical airport hours, roughly 06:00 until late evening, tracking the first and last Iberia long-hauls out of Madrid. You’ll find standard Spanish-pharmacy stock: ibuprofen, paracetamol, antihistamines, nasal sprays, eye drops, motion-sickness tablets, plus basic first-aid kits and bandages. Prices run higher than a city centro farmacia, roughly 20–40% more on common OTC brands, but still less painful than landing sick in Bogotá or JFK.

Being in T4 matters at Barajas, because the T4–T4S transfer train can eat 10–15 minutes each way. Use Farmacia if your Schengen flight leaves from T4 gates K, J or H and you spot it on the way to security or just after. Staff work in Spanish first, but most manage solid English for describing symptoms, and you can show the Spanish name from Google Translate if needed. They also sell travel-size toiletries under 100 ml, handy for cabin-only trips on Iberia or Vueling.

Expect European brands like Gelocatil, Frenadol, Flonase equivalents, plus basic skincare and sunblock in 50 ml and 100 ml formats, good for Costa del Sol or Canary Islands trips. You won’t find full grocery shelves, but there are a few baby-care items, including diapers in 3–5 piece packs and small packs of wipes. Payment works with standard cards and contactless; Revolut and Wise cards run fine here in euros.

Tip: screenshot your current medication boxes before you leave home; show the photo at Farmacia T4 so they can match the active ingredient quickly and keep your gate sprint under 5–10 minutes.
