Prices in euros, paid in your home currency at checkout
Dufry Duty Free shows up in every terminal at Madrid-Barajas: you’ll walk through main walk-through stores in T1, T2, T3, T4 and T4S after security. It runs long hours that roughly track flight banks, so early-morning departures around 06:00 and late-night arrivals after 22:00 still see most sections open.
Expect the usual duty free lineup: liquor, perfume, cosmetics, Spanish wine and jamón packs, plus Toblerone-style travel chocolate. Spirits and wine often run around 10–20% below central Madrid supermarket prices, but cosmetics and fragrance can match or even beat city department stores during promo periods. All prices are in euros, but you can pay by card in your home currency; just decline dynamic currency conversion if the terminal offers it.
Food-wise, you’ll mostly see packaged goods: turrón bars from brands like El Almendro, olive oil gift tins, and vacuum-packed Iberian ham that’s safe for EU flights and many long-haul routes. Single chocolate bars and small snacks near the tills usually start around €1.50–€3. Pre-bottled water inside the shop tends to sit near €2–€3 for 0.5L, so grab it in the terminal supermarkets if you care about price.
If your boarding pass shows T4S, you’ll pass a Dufry Duty Free again after the train from T4, so you can skip heavier bottles in the main building and buy closer to your long-haul gate. Last tip: check the multi-buy tags on shelves—2-for deals on spirits and cosmetics are often the only real savings over buying the same products in town.
