Quarter Pounder in T4 before your late-night flight
McDonald’s sits airside in Terminal T4 at Chennai International Airport, handy if you’ve cleared security and still want something familiar before boarding. It’s one of the few global chains in this terminal, so it pulls a steady queue around peak departures. You’ll see it once you pass the main duty-free zone and head toward the international gates.
Pricing runs lower than many sit-down spots in MAA: expect a standard burger or McAloo Tikki in the ₹150–₹250 range, and combo meals with fries and a drink around ₹250–₹400. That’s cheaper than most café sandwiches in T4, which often hit ₹400–₹500 for far less food. Card payments and UPI are both accepted, which is useful if you’re burning through the last of your rupees.
The menu leans India-specific: McAloo Tikki, McSpicy Paneer, and chicken burgers headline, with fries, McFlurry, and sundaes as usual add-ons. Compared with landside outlets in Chennai city, the menu is slightly trimmed, but vegetarian options are still strong by airport standards. If you want something filling but not heavy, a single burger plus small fries usually lands around ₹250 and is enough to hold you through a 3–4 hour flight.
Service speed varies by bank of departures: at big international waves around midnight and 3 a.m., waits can stretch to 10–15 minutes from order to pickup. During quieter midday banks, food often comes out in under 5 minutes. Seating in front of the counter is shared with nearby concessions and can be limited; at busy times you might end up taking your tray back toward your actual gate.
Tip: if your gate is at the far end of T4, order here at least 25 minutes before boarding and walk down while eating, since the outer gates can be a 5–10 minute walk from McDonald’s.
