McDonald's

T1 ★ 4 $$$$

Soup instead of fries is actually a thing at LIS T1 McDonald's.

This McDonald's sits in the Terminal 1 post-security food court, right next to Versailles, KFC, Pizza Hut and Go Natural. It’s the cheapest full fast-food option in this cluster, with most combo meals landing under €8–€9. Rating hovers around 4/5, which is high for an airport chain spot doing constant volume.

The quirk: you can pick soup as a side, even in Happy Meals, not just fries. Parents who watch the Wolters World videos call out that Happy Meals here can come with soup, which takes some of the “full junk” edge off. Adults can swap to soup on regular meals too, which you do not see in most U.S. McDonald’s locations.

Menu is the usual Euro-McDonald’s lineup: Big Mac, McChicken, nuggets, fries, sundaes, plus periodic Portugal-only promos, generally in the €5–€9 range for meals. Breakfast runs earlier than most concessions in T1, typically catching the 6:00–7:00 flights with coffee-and-McMuffin crowds. Soft drinks and basic coffees cost less than many nearby cafés by at least €1–€2 per order.

Regulars with kids go straight for a Happy Meal with soup on the side, then steal a few fries off their own combo. It’s a fast way to feed a family of four for around €25–€30 instead of pushing €40 at the sit-down places nearby. Turnover is quick, so even with a visible line of 10–15 people, you’re usually out in under 15 minutes.

Lines spike around the bank of departures between 06:30–08:30 and 18:00–20:00 in T1. Build a 20-minute buffer if your gate is at the far Schengen end and you want hot food. Tip: mobile-order or decide ahead from the overhead boards, then grab a tray and eat facing the screens so you don’t miss a gate change.
