Gate-adjacent tacos in Terminal 1
Taco Beach Cantina sits past security in Terminal 1 at Long Beach (LGB), a short walk from the main gate cluster. It’s one of the airport’s main sit-down options, so expect most of the seating to be bar-height tables along the concourse. Service runs through the daytime bank of departures; if your flight is before 6 a.m. or after 9 p.m., have a backup plan in case they’re closed.
The menu leans Mexican-American: think street-style tacos, burritos, nachos, and quesadillas, plus a full bar with beer and margaritas. Tacos usually price in the $4–$6 range each, with combo plates edging toward $12–$15. Portions run large for an airport, and a plate of nachos can easily cover two average appetites before an hour-long hop up the West Coast.
Food quality sits a notch above standard pub grub. Grilled chicken or carne asada tacos are the safer bets than anything deep-fried, and fresh salsa typically lands on the mild side. If you’re watching time before a 45-minute connection, go for tacos or a burrito; they come out faster than quesadillas or larger combo plates. The bar pours standard domestic and Mexican beers plus house margaritas in the $10–$15 band.
Seating is open to the concourse, with maybe a dozen bar stools and a couple of two-tops tight to the rail, so at peak waves around a 5 p.m. departure bank you might wait 5–10 minutes for a spot. To-go orders in brown bags are normal, and staff usually calls out names by last four of your boarding pass confirmation number.
Tip: If your gate is within sight, order tacos and a margarita to go, then eat at the gate so you can board the moment your group number hits the screen.
