Boathouse on the Bay

Gate 1 is a 2-minute walk from Boathouse on the Bay

This Boathouse on the Bay outpost sits airside in Terminal 1 at Long Beach (LGB), just past the single security checkpoint and a short walk from the main gate cluster. It borrows the menu theme from the waterfront original in Long Beach, but portions and pacing run on airport time. Expect sit-down service, not grab-and-go, so build in at least 45 minutes if you want a relaxed meal before boarding.

Menu focus skews to seafood and American bar food: think fish tacos in the $16–$20 range, burgers around $17, and salads landing near $15. Drinks lean on California wine and basic cocktails; draft beers usually run $9–$12. Breakfast items appear earlier in the day, with eggs and pancakes roughly in the $12–$15 band. Prices sit a bit above what you’d pay in town, but inline with most full-service airport spots in Southern California.

Hours generally track the first and last bank of flights, opening by 6:00 a.m. and winding down by around 9:00 p.m., though the bar side may call last orders earlier on quiet evenings. There’s a mix of standard tables and a bar counter, with power outlets at a limited number of seats only. If you have a laptop, aim for the wall-side tables; center tables near the aisle rarely have plugs.

Because Long Beach is a small field with minimal food competition, Boathouse on the Bay often fills up before mid-morning departures and again around the 5:00–7:00 p.m. push. Service times can creep past 25 minutes when a couple of flights board at once, and checks sometimes lag when a large party closes out. If your flight is boarding from Gate 1 or Gate 2, you’ll still hear announcements from your table, but don’t count on staff to flag boarding calls.

Practical tip: If your connection or pre-flight window is under 45 minutes, skip a full meal here and use the bar for a quick drink and a shared appetizer instead of a full entree.
