Lot A

Short-term parking

$25/day gets you the closest covered parking at LGB

Lot A sits right in front of Terminal 1 at Long Beach Airport, directly across the roadway from the check-in area, and functions as the short-term garage with the highest on-airport rate at $25 per day. It’s a true structure (not surface), so cars are under cover, which matters in summer sun or rare SoCal downpours.

City rate sheets now list Structure A at a $25 daily max, and older FlyerTalk threads remember it opening at $12, then $17 per day back in 2007, so the price creep is real. That same era of posts called this the “fancy” garage that replaced cheaper economy lots, so budget‑minded regulars shifted to outdoor lots like B, C, or D instead of paying for the upgrade.

For short stays, Lot A uses a clock-based system: the first 20 minutes are free, then it was historically $1 per hour up to the daily max, which made quick curb-style pickups workable without hitting the full $25. Check the posted board on entry, but that structure (free first 20, then hourly to a cap) has been standard across LGB lots for years.

FlyerTalk and TripAdvisor users point out that LGB parking does not offer online reservations, so you just drive up to Lot A and, if it’s full, get directed to another structure on the same airport road loop. Some cost-conscious regulars only pick Lot A during bad weather or very early flights when being directly across from Terminal 1 doors saves a few minutes.

Tip: If you’re just doing a pickup, use Lot A’s first 20 free minutes instead of circling the terminal road; pull a ticket, park, and walk into arrivals for a low-stress handoff.
