Gate-side liquor and perfume stop in Terminal B

Duty Free Americas sits airside in LaGuardia’s Terminal B, after security, and mainly serves international departures using gates in the B concourses. You’ll see the shop on the way toward the main gate areas, with shelves of spirits, perfume, and cosmetics stacked almost to the ceiling. Pricing on liquor usually comes in below Midtown Manhattan store prices, especially on 1L bottles, but not every brand is cheaper than city duty-paid shops.

The store keeps typical Terminal B hours, roughly opening by 5:00 a.m. and running until the late-night bank of departures winds down around 10:00–11:00 p.m. Selection leans hard on big global names: Johnnie Walker, Jack Daniel’s, Hennessy, major tequila labels, plus fragrance counters from brands you’ll recognize from department stores. Cigarettes and some confectionery sit closer to the registers, useful if you forgot gifts and have under 15 minutes before boarding.

Staff walk you through the customs rules for your specific destination, and they’ll usually ask to see your boarding pass with an international city printed on it before selling tax-free items. US domestic passengers still can buy some products, but not everything in the locked liquor cases qualifies. Expect standard airport markup on candy and skincare compared with a CVS or Target in Queens.

Watch the time: at LaGuardia, boarding for transborder and Caribbean flights often starts a full 40 minutes before departure, and lines at the podiums form fast. If your bag already feels close to airline weight limits, remember that a couple of 1L glass bottles add roughly 4 pounds. Easiest move is to pick what you want, pay, and walk straight to your gate without stopping again for food.
