Minibus

Many Lomé airport hotels quietly include a free minibus ride

Several business and airport-area hotels around Lomé–Tokoin International (LFW) run their own shuttle minibuses to and from Terminal T1, often bundled in the room rate. Most services operate around scheduled arrivals and departures, typically from early morning to late evening, so you’ll want to confirm the first and last run with the front desk before you land.

Shuttles usually wait just outside the T1 arrivals exit, a 1–2 minute walk from the baggage claim doors. Some hotels send a driver holding a sign with your name or the hotel logo, while others park a branded minibus in the small pickup lane in front of the terminal. In most cases you won’t pay the driver directly if transport is included in your booking; the cost is folded into your nightly rate.

Typical transfer time from LFW to nearby airport hotels runs about 10–20 minutes, depending on traffic along the route into Lomé. The vehicles are usually 8–15 seat minibuses, and some properties limit seats per run, so late-night arrivals on full flights may have to wait for a second loop. If your hotel quotes a fixed pickup time tied to your flight number, expect the driver to wait roughly 30 minutes after scheduled arrival.

To lock this in, contact your hotel at least 24 hours before landing, give them your LFW flight number, and ask for written confirmation of the shuttle time. Many front desks will email or message you the driver’s phone number and the exact meeting point, often described as “outside T1 arrivals, right side of the main exit.” Keep a screenshot of that info on your phone in case mobile data is slow at the airport.

Step-by-step from plane to hotel shuttle

  • 1. Land at LFW T1 and clear immigration; this can take 20–45 minutes.
  • 2. Collect bags from the single baggage claim area and exit into arrivals.
  • 3. Walk 1–2 minutes to the main doors marked for ground transport.
  • 4. Look for your hotel’s logo on a sign or minibus beside the curb.
  • 5. Confirm your name with the driver and your room or booking number.
  • 6. Load bags into the minibus and keep valuables with you in the cabin.
  • 7. Expect a 10–20 minute drive to most airport-area or business hotels.

One last tip: if your flight into LFW is delayed by more than 60 minutes, call or message the hotel from the aircraft or on landing so they can hold or re-time the shuttle minibus.
