Bookshop Eckert

Gate-side books in Terminal B

Right in Terminal B, Bookshop Eckert is the airport stop for something to read before boarding at Leipzig/Halle. You’re in the Zentralterminal already? It’s a short walk across to B, so this works as a last-minute dash after security. Expect a standard German airport mix: bestsellers, crime novels, magazines, and some travel guides, all within a couple minutes of most B-gates.

Pricing runs typical airport level: paperbacks sit a few euros above downtown Leipzig shops, and import magazines can push into the €8–€12 range. You’ll also find newspapers and puzzle books if you just want something light for a 60–90 minute hop to Frankfurt or Munich. Staff usually switch to English quickly, which helps if you’re trying to match a specific author or series and only have a few minutes before boarding.

Stock skews heavily German-language, but there’s normally a small English section with recent releases and airport-friendly thrillers. If you’re flying long-haul via a hub on Lufthansa or another Star Alliance carrier, this is one of the few chances inside LEJ to grab a physical book instead of relying on your phone for a 10+ hour travel day. You’ll also see the usual extras at the counter: pens, small notebooks, and a few basic travel accessories.

Plan 10 minutes here between clearing security in the Zentralterminal and walking to your B-gate; it’s enough time to scan the shelves without cutting boarding too close.
