Gate-side tacos in Terminal 6
Right in LAX Terminal 6, Wahoo's Fish Taco sits in the main concourse between gates around 60–69, so you don’t have to stray far from most Alaska and Delta departures. It’s post-security, so this is a solid option after you clear the T6 checkpoint and start clock-watching your boarding time.
Food is quick-service Mexican with a surf twist: grilled or Cajun fish tacos, shrimp tacos, chicken bowls, and burritos. Expect tacos and combo plates in the $10–$18 range, with beers running roughly $8–$12. Portions run larger than typical airport grab-and-go, so a two-taco plate can easily cover a full meal before a 5–6 hour transcon.
Fish tacos are the headliner here, especially the grilled fish versions with cabbage and salsa, and they hold up better than most airport reheats. Burritos and rice bowls are the backup plan if you want less mess at a tight gate area seat. Sides like black beans and rice are decent filler if you’re boarding a late-night flight and don’t expect real food in row 32.
Service runs counter-order with a pager; at normal weekday times you’re usually in and out in 15–20 minutes, but that jumps closer to 30 during the evening bank around 6–8 p.m. Seating is shared with nearby spots in the T6 food court cluster, so you may end up taking your tacos back toward your gate if every table near Wahoo’s is full.
Tip: If you’re tight on time before a gate 60-something boarding call, skip the dine-in area and ask for everything wrapped to-go so you can eat in the boarding line or on the jet bridge shuffle.
