Terminal B tacos with a view of the international gates

Border Grill sits airside in LAX Terminal B, just past several of the long-haul boarding gates, and focuses on modern Mexican plates with table service. It opens early for the T-B morning bank, usually by 8:00 a.m., and runs through the late-night departures to Asia and Europe. You get a full bar, sit-down menu, and enough space to park a rollaboard at your table without blocking the aisle.

Menu pricing runs in typical Tom Bradley territory: tacos often land around $16–$20, mains push into the mid-$20s, and cocktails hover near $15. Portions lean more restaurant than bar snack, so one entree can cover a long layover. If you just need something quick before a 12-hour flight, stick to tacos, chips with salsa, or a shared appetizer so you’re not sprinting to a B gate boarding call.

Food skews familiar: think fish or carnitas tacos, quesadillas, and guac built for traveling palates rather than hardcore heat seekers. The bar pours standard tequila and mezcal options plus a few house margaritas, usually batched enough to land at your table in under 10 minutes. Non-alcoholic options include soft drinks and juices, and staff don’t blink if you camp with a single drink while watching the boarding screens above the bar for your B-gate flight.

Service speed can vary with the big A380 and 777 departure waves, especially in the 16:00–21:00 window when Terminal B fills up. Build in at least 60 minutes if you want a proper sit-down meal, pay, and still walk to the farther B gates that can add another 8–10 minutes of hallway time. If you’re tight on a connection, grab lighter items that can arrive faster and skip the second round at the bar.

Tip: ask for the check when your main course hits the table; in the B evening rush, that move can save 10–15 minutes and keep you from hearing your name over the final boarding call.
