Parking Structure 5

Terminal parking

$60 a day gets you terminal-adjacent parking at LAX

Parking Structure 5 sits in the Central Terminal Area, across from Terminal 4 and Terminal 5, so you walk to check-in instead of riding a shuttle. This is core “CTA” parking, not an economy lot, and it’s priced like it. Drive-up max is $60 per 24 hours under LAX’s current general parking rates, putting it at the top end of airport pricing but saving you the bus time.

This is standard terminal parking: multi-level, self-park, and inside the horseshoe loop with terminals 1–8 and B. You enter off the inner roadway between Terminals 4 and 5, then follow signs for “Parking 5.” LAX groups Structures 1–7 as CTA parking, all hitting that same $60-per-day cap, so you’re paying for proximity, not upgrades like reserved floors or valet.

The smart move is to prebook online through LAX’s system rather than pay the CTA drive-up rate. Regulars watching the 2024–2026 parking thread report that advance booking in the CTA structures, including P5, often undercuts the $60 daily max by a noticeable margin. Locking in a prebook rate also avoids day-of pricing surprises if you’re leaving the car for several nights.

Reviews and forum posts don’t flag any standout problems specific to Parking Structure 5 beyond the usual LAX traffic and crowded weekends. It’s the same setup as the other CTA garages: ramps, tightish turns, and a hunt for an open space on busy days. Figure extra minutes to circle floors if you’re arriving late Friday or before a Monday morning bank of flights from Terminals 4, 5, or B.

Tip: If you’re flying American out of Terminal 4 or 5, park in Structure 5, snap a photo of your level and row, and give yourself a 5–10 minute walk window back to the car on return.
