LAX Valet Parking Guide: Rates, Tips & Terminals

Parking Overview

LAX Valet Parking is the airport’s most convenient on-site option, designed for travelers who want the quickest possible handoff and the shortest walk to the terminal. You drive into the Central Terminal Area (CTA), drop your car with attendants at designated valet locations (commonly associated with CTA garages such as P1, P3, P4, and P7), and head straight to check-in.

This facility is best for business travelers, families with lots of luggage, and anyone doing quick overnight trips or tight departures. It’s less ideal for budget travelers or week-long vacations unless convenience outweighs cost. Expect a premium, time-saving experience, especially during busy curbside periods.

Pricing

  • Daily rate: $75/day (flat daily maximum).
  • Weekly estimate: about $525 for 7 days (7 x $75).

How it compares at LAX: Valet is the highest-priced standard on-site option. Economy Parking runs up to about $35/day (often less for certain economy lots), and Budget Parking is about $20/day. CTA self-parking in terminal garages can reach roughly $60–$70/day depending on area and conditions. Off-site lots frequently undercut on-site pricing and can range widely (often $5–$39/day), but add shuttle time.

Discounts: LAX’s official parking reservation system may offer online booking discounts (promotions can be significant at times). Valet inventory can sell out, so reserving early is the best “discount” in practice—saving time and avoiding last-minute premium self-parking.

Payment: Expect major credit/debit cards to be accepted; some facilities also accept mobile wallet payments. If you need a receipt for expense reporting, request it at checkout.

Getting to Your Terminal

Valet is located in the CTA and is designed for near-terminal access. There is typically no shuttle required.

  • Estimated time to terminal: about 1–2 minutes once you’ve completed the valet handoff.
  • Walking: short walk through garage/terminal approaches; expect some weather exposure in open-air sections since valet parking is generally not covered.

During peak hours, build in extra time for CTA traffic. Even though valet speeds up the parking step, the loop can still be congested.

Features & Security

  • Covered vs. uncovered: Valet parking is generally uncovered.
  • Security: As an on-airport facility, it benefits from airport lighting and monitoring; still, remove valuables and take photos of your vehicle at drop-off.
  • EV charging: Not listed for valet. If you need charging, consider Economy Parking where charging is available (fees apply in addition to parking).
  • Services: Car wash/detailing may be available seasonally or by request depending on operator; ask at drop-off if you want add-ons.
  • Accessibility: Valet is typically convenient for travelers with limited mobility due to minimal walking; request assistance at the stand if needed.

Booking Tips

  • Reserve online early for the best chance of availability, especially for holidays, Monday mornings, and Thursday/Friday afternoons.
  • Know your return plan: Save your claim ticket info and confirm after-hours pickup procedures if you land late.
  • Cancellation: Policies vary by booking channel; review terms before purchase (some prepaid rates may be limited or non-refundable).
  • If valet is full: Use CTA garages for closest self-parking, or shift to Economy/Budget lots if cost matters (plan extra time for shuttles).
