Remote Overflow Lot

Economy

On Thanksgiving weekend and CES, this is the lot they open

Remote Overflow Lot is the airport’s pressure valve when the main garages, Economy, and the regular Remote Lot are jammed during big spikes like Thanksgiving and CES. It’s not always available; operations flip it on only when on-airport parking nears capacity and traffic staff start waving cars away from the primary entrances. Think of it as last-resort, still-on-airport economy parking rather than something you can plan to drive straight to.

Shuttles from Remote Overflow to Terminals 1 and 3 run on the same basic loop as the Remote Lot, with the ride usually around 10 minutes curb to curb once you’re on board. Pricing generally tracks the Remote/Economy daily max, about $12 per day according to local news and user reports, so you’re not paying premium-garage rates just because you got diverted. The tradeoff is a less-built-out surface and more improvisation in how the shuttle stops are set up.

Expect gravel or dirt sections instead of full pavement, as one Reddit user described being “waved into some dirt overflow lot” during a packed CES week and calling it “bare-bones but fine for a couple of days.” Signage is light, and some drivers say it feels like being “dumped in a field,” with only temporary markers and cones separating rows. Shuttle pickup points can be ad-hoc, so you may walk a few extra minutes with bags to find the active stop.

Regulars in Las Vegas try to dodge Remote Overflow entirely by reserving parking ahead of holidays and huge events, something local TV has pushed hard before Thanksgiving. If they do get pushed into overflow, locals often drop passengers and luggage at Terminal 1 or 3 first, so only the driver deals with the gravel lot and shuttle. One practical tip: snap a photo of the nearest pole, cone number, or landmark the second you park; it makes finding your car in a dark, temporary lot much less painful at 11 p.m. on the way home.
