Priority Pass and Amex Platinum both get you into Club Kingston
Club Kingston Departure Lounge sits airside in T1 at Norman Manley, running roughly 08:00–21:00, and it’s basically the only real lounge option in the airport. Think “escape from the main terminal” more than big-hub flagship. Access comes via the main terminal after security; once you’re through, follow signs to the departures lounge area and look for the Club Kingston branding.
The food setup centers on Jamaican patties that come out in batches through the day, not just at lunch, plus small hot bites and basic snacks. Regulars call the patties the move here, especially compared to generic terminal fast food. Don’t expect a Club Mobay–level buffet spread at MBJ, but for KIN the mix of hot items and nibbles generally beats grabbing a single plate landside.
The bar runs a full spread of local rum, Red Stripe, spirits, and standard mixers, and several flyers say the cost of lounge access roughly matches what you’d blow on two drinks and a meal in the terminal. If you’re not planning to touch alcohol or eat much, value feels thinner; if you’ll have at least one plate plus a couple of drinks, the math tilts back toward the lounge.
Shower rooms are on offer inside the departures lounge, which is rare at KIN and a big plus after a humid day in Kingston. Staff can set you up with towels and amenities; just ask at the front desk and expect a short wait in banked evening departure waves. If you’ve got a long layover before a late-night flight, this is one of the few ways to properly reset before boarding.
Business travelers lean on the small conference room and quiet corners to make calls or finish slides instead of trying to work at crowded public gates. The lounge also advertises baggage storage, handy if you want to drop a roller for an hour instead of dragging it to every restroom run. Wi‑Fi is included and usually faster than the terminal network.
Compared with Club Mobay at Montego Bay, most FlyerTalk reports describe Club Kingston as smaller and less elaborate, so dial expectations down a notch. Regulars with the VIP package use the fast track, check into the lounge, eat patties and have a drink, then leave only when their flight from T1 shows “boarding.” Plan to arrive early enough to justify the fee; 90 minutes in the lounge feels about right.
Practical tip: Hit the food station for fresh patties as soon as you enter, then shower or work afterward; trays sometimes thin out when several departures from T1 hit at once.
