Flybus hotel shuttles cover over 40 Reykjavík stops from KEF

Hotel Shuttle Stop at Keflavik (Terminal 1) really means a two-step coach setup: KEF to BSÍ Reykjavík Terminal, then a smaller hotel bus from there. It suits people whose hotel already appears in the Flybus or similar operator dropdown, so the last mile is already mapped out.

From KEF, Flybus coaches usually leave 35–45 minutes after each arriving flight, running roughly every 30–60 minutes, and take about 45 minutes to reach BSÍ. Tickets run around 4,999–5,999 ISK one-way per adult, with discounted child fares and free rides for very young kids on laps. You board outside arrivals at the signed Flybus stop; this part is the big coach, not the hotel minibus.

The hotel shuttle part is the second leg: BSÍ to your stop number in Reykjavík, such as Stop 12 (Hótel Saga area) or similar marked city stops. Staff at BSÍ check your first ticket and hand you a second ticket for the hotel transfer, as one traveler notes: “After boarding, your ticket will be checked, and you'll receive a second ticket for your hotel transfer.”

Booking works through the operator’s website, where you literally pick your hotel name from a dropdown list before you pay. One regular puts it simply: “Simply choose your hotel from the dropdown menu on the Fly Bus website.” If your hotel isn’t listed, expect to walk from the nearest official bus stop or use a separate taxi for the last 500–800 meters.

Watch out for the return direction: Reddit users flag that the hotel shuttle from some stops, including Stop 12 back to BSÍ, only runs on demand and must be prebooked. Don’t assume you can walk up at 04:30 for a 07:00 departure; build in a 90-minute buffer between BSÍ and your KEF departure time, especially in winter.

Regulars always confirm their exact property is covered before buying a round-trip ticket, instead of assuming every Reykjavík guesthouse is on the list. They also prebook the hotel-to-BSÍ pickup time for the return, then aim to be at their signed city stop 10–15 minutes before the printed pickup window. Your move: check your hotel against the dropdown, then print or download both legs of your ticket before you land at KEF.
