Long-stay P3 sits a short walk from Terminal 1
P3 Car Park is KEF’s designated long-stay option for trips that run more than a couple of days. It serves Terminal 1 only, since Keflavik operates as a single-terminal airport. This is an outdoor lot, so factor in Icelandic weather when you park and when you come back to your car.
This is a long-stay product, so pricing typically works out better once you hit multi-day use compared with short-stay options closer to the terminal. If your trip runs 4–7 days or more, P3 is usually the tier the airport intends for that length of stay. Check KEF’s official site for the current daily and weekly rates, as they change seasonally.
P3 is within walking distance of the main departures hall for Terminal 1, so you’re not dealing with a separate shuttle timetable or an extra 10–15 minutes of transit. You park, walk in, and go straight to check-in or security. That walk still takes a few minutes in winter conditions, so add a small buffer if you’re flying early in the morning.
Being an official on-airport car park, P3 ties directly into airport wayfinding signs as you approach KEF on Route 41 from Reykjavík. Look for the P3 signage once you’re inside the airport road system and follow the lane markings; access is usually through barrier gates controlled by ticket or license plate recognition. That setup makes it easier to get out quickly on your return.
Practical tip: in winter, arrive 15–20 minutes earlier than you normally would for de-icing lines on Route 41, snow in P3, and an extra-cautious walk to Terminal 1.
