Juneau International Airport Terminal

4 airlines

Terminal T1 hosts 4 airlines.

One terminal handles every passenger flight at Juneau (JNU)

Every commercial flight at Juneau International Airport runs through T1, so Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Alaska Seaplanes, and Ward Air all share the same small building. That means no terminal changes and no shuttle buses, just one security checkpoint and one gate area cluster for all departures.

Security at T1 usually opens early enough for the first Alaska Airlines and Delta Air Lines departures, but with a single checkpoint the line can stack quickly before morning flights. Plan 45 minutes from curb to gate during peak summer cruise season, less in shoulder months when Alaska Seaplanes and Ward Air still run but mainline traffic drops off.

Juneau’s terminal sits about 8 miles from downtown Juneau, and there’s no in-terminal train or tram because everything is under one roof. Rental car counters, check-in desks for Alaska Airlines and Delta Air Lines, and counters for Alaska Seaplanes and Ward Air all sit on the landside level, so you move in a straight line from airline counter to TSA to gates.

Food options in T1 are limited enough that frequent flyers often eat before they reach the airport or bring something from town. With no catalogued restaurants or branded chains inside the terminal, prices and hours vary a lot, and late-evening departures on Alaska Airlines sometimes go with only vending machines available after security.

There are no airline or independent lounges in Juneau’s terminal, so even Alaska Airlines elites and Delta Sky Club members sit in the general gate area. Power outlets can be scarce during winter weather delays when multiple Alaska Airlines and Delta Air Lines flights hold at adjacent gates, so charge devices at your hotel or at a landside outlet before heading through security.

Shopping inside T1 is minimal, with no catalogued shops beyond basic souvenirs and travel essentials, and selection drops off sharply outside summer tourist months. If you need specific outdoor gear, grab it in downtown Juneau rather than banking on a last-minute pickup near the Alaska Seaplanes and Ward Air counters in the terminal.

JNU’s single runway and single terminal mean weather changes hit the whole operation at once, and Alaska Airlines and Delta Air Lines flights can bunch up when conditions improve suddenly. Build the buffer on departure days and arrive at T1 at least 90 minutes before a mainline flight; in winter, add another 30 minutes in case deicing or visibility slows things down.
