Gate-side books and snacks in T8

This Hudson in Terminal 8 sits airside after security, so you can grab last-minute basics without backtracking toward check-in. It’s one of the main newsstands in T8, handy if you’re flying American and want something in hand before a long-haul out of the B concourse.

Hours typically track the American Airlines bank in T8, opening early morning around the first departures and staying open into the late evening departures to LAX and London. If you land on a 6 a.m. arrival, expect it to be one of the first shops with lights on and coffee in the cooler.

Stock runs standard Hudson: bottled water usually around $3–$5, candy and chips, basic tech like charging cables and headphones, plus magazines and paperbacks. Pricing beats what you’ll pay onboard an American buy-on-board snack box, but it’s higher than a grocery run in Queens, so grab bigger items before you reach JFK if you care about cost.

Hudson also carries travel-size toiletries, over-the-counter meds, and neck pillows, which helps if TSA pulled your liquids or your bag went missing on a T8 international connection. They often have simple JFK or New York souvenirs by the register, good for a quick gift when you’re already at gate level.

Tip: Stop here before you walk down to the far B gates in Terminal 8; options thin out the deeper you get into the pier.
