The Palm Bar & Grille

4 $$$$

Steakhouse prices in JFK T4 without true Palm-level payoff

In Terminal 4 after security, The Palm Bar & Grille pitches itself as a mini Palm steakhouse, but regulars on FlyerTalk say it lands closer to “airport steakhouse lite” with $$$ pricing. You’ll see it on the main concourse in T4 alongside other sit-down options, yet bills here often run higher than at neighboring spots for similar burgers, salads, and steaks.

Menus lean heavy on steak and burgers, not just drinks, with mains often creeping into the high-$20s and $30+ range before tax and tip. That matches Google and Yelp comments that call the food “okay” but not in line with the tab. If you want a ribeye or a big burger inside T4, this is one of the only true table-service plays, but expectations should be set below the Palm locations in Manhattan.

Service reviews are mixed: one Yelp regular notes friendly staff but “super slow” pacing, especially during evening departure banks around 6–9 p.m. If your boarding pass shows less than 75–90 minutes till departure in T4, this is a risky sit-down choice. Long-layover folks with two hours or more tend to report better outcomes, as the kitchen and servers aren’t rushing tickets through.

The room itself feels like an older airport build, and several Google reviews call the interior dated compared with newer T4 venues like some of the refreshed fast-casual spots. That dated feel wouldn’t matter as much at a $$ pub, but combined with $$$ pricing and steakhouse branding, expectations get stretched beyond what arrives on the plate.

What regulars do: FlyerTalk T4 veterans generally skip it unless they specifically want a steak or burger with full table service and have serious buffer time. Those who still go usually sit at the bar, where one section of stools often turns orders faster than the main dining room. Tip: if the bar looks more than half full, ask the host for current ticket times before you commit.
