Hourly rates start here for Terminals 7 and 8
Red Garage sits directly in front of JFK Terminal 8 and also serves Terminal 7, so you’re walking 3–6 minutes to either check-in area. It’s short-term parking, not meant for long vacations. Think drop-offs that take a while, same-day meetings, or quick overnight trips on American or other T8 carriers.
This is a Port Authority on-airport garage with hourly and daily pricing, usually much higher than the long-term lot off the Belt Parkway. If you’re staying more than 24–36 hours, that daily cap adds up fast compared with JFK’s official Long-Term Parking Lot 9. For a two-hour pickup or drop-off, though, the math often beats circling the roadway or waiting at the free Cell Phone Lot near Lefferts Boulevard.
Access is simple: follow airport signs for “Parking Red” as you approach Terminals 7 and 8 on the JFK ring road. Entry uses regular ticketed gates with payment at exit by card or cash. There’s no private shuttle; you walk indoors via covered walkways directly into Terminal 8, or cross the roadway to Terminal 7 in roughly 5 minutes depending on your row.
Security-wise, this is inside the main airport perimeter with cameras and patrols, on par with other JFK garages like the Green and Blue structures near Terminals 1 and 4. Standard height limits apply, so tall vans and trucks should double-check the clearance posted at the entrance, typically around 7 feet. EV charging and premium reserved spots are limited compared with newer airport garages.
Tip: If you’re doing a quick pickup at Terminal 8, pull a ticket, park in Red Garage near the ground-level exits, and set a 45-minute timer so you’re out before the fee climbs into “should’ve used the Cell Phone Lot” territory.
