Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Various garages

Level 1 and 2 chargers sit in multiple JFK parking garages

JFK spreads electric vehicle charging across several on-airport garages, so you can plug in close to Terminals 1, 4, 5, 7, and 8. Stations sit inside the main parking structures, not in remote lots, so you park once, charge, and walk to check-in. Expect a mix of Level 1 and Level 2 chargers; faster Level 2 spots tend to fill first on weekday mornings. All stations sit post-entry to paid parking, so you pay normal garage rates on top of any charging fees from the network.

Most chargers sit near the lower levels and corner sections of the garages, usually close to pedestrian walkways and elevators. In the Terminal 4 garage, EV spots cluster on the lower floors near the central elevator bank, which cuts your walk to the check-in counters to roughly 5–7 minutes. At Terminal 5, look for green-painted EV spaces marked near the main pedestrian bridge that links straight into JetBlue check-in. Signage can be small, so plan an extra 5–10 minutes the first time you hunt for a spot.

Pricing varies by provider, but expect per-kWh or per-hour fees layered on top of standard JFK garage daily caps, which often land in the $35–$60 per 24 hours range depending on the garage and demand. Chargers usually accept major credit cards and app payments; some networks require a smartphone app account set up before you plug in. There’s no dedicated EV-only overflow area, so once the marked stalls fill, you fall back to a regular parking space with no charging.

One practical tip: take a quick photo of your garage level and row number when you park by a charger; JFK’s multi-level decks near Terminals 4 and 5 can feel identical after a 5-hour flight and a late-night arrival.
