Jarir Bookstore

1

Near the main gates in Terminal 1, Jarir Bookstore is your last-minute supply stop.

This branch in Jeddah’s Terminal 1 sits airside, useful if you suddenly need a notebook, pen, or charger before boarding. Stock skews toward Arabic-language books and school-style stationery, with some English titles mixed in. Think basic reads and kids’ books, not deep literary hunting. Prices track standard Saudi Jarir retail, so you’re not paying a huge airport premium, but nothing here feels like a bargain bin either.

Beyond books, Jarir in Terminal 1 carries trip basics: phone cables, power banks, simple headphones, plus office-style supplies like highlighters, folders, and A4 pads. Electronics are mostly mid-range brands; don’t expect the full big-box Jarir inventory you’d see in town. It opens roughly in line with peak international bank times in T1, so early-morning and late-night departures usually find it open, but a 03:00 connection can catch it closed with shutters down.

Payment is straightforward: prices in SAR, cards widely accepted, and most staff handle simple English along with Arabic. Kids’ activity books and coloring sets are easy to spot near the front shelves and cost far less than toys from duty free. Stock on travel plugs and adapters around Terminal 1 can be patchy, so if you see the right plug shape at Jarir, buy it instead of assuming another shop will have it.

Tip: if you’re eyeing a heavier title over 500 pages, check your cabin baggage allowance at the gate screens in Terminal 1 first so it doesn’t push your hand luggage over the airline’s limit.
