Dr. Café

1

Gate-side caffeine option in Terminal 1

Terminal 1 at King Abdulaziz International Airport runs on coffee, and Dr. Café is one of the easier chains to spot once you clear security. It sits airside in T1, so you can grab something after passport control without backtracking through the landside food court. Expect a standard Saudi Dr. Café setup: counter service, a pastry case, and a few small tables that tend to turn over quickly between wide-body departures.

Menu pricing runs in the usual airport range: a basic brewed coffee or Americano lands around mid-teens SAR, with lattes and cappuccinos creeping into the high-teens or low-20s depending on size. You’ll see the familiar Dr. Café drinks list, including espresso-based options, flavored iced coffees, and frappé-style blends that work for the Jeddah heat even inside air-conditioned Terminal 1. Packaged snacks and pastries sit near the register if you want something you can carry to the gate at T1.

Food is grab-and-go style here, with pre-made sandwiches and croissants in a chilled display that staff restock around main bank departures from T1 international gates. Quality is fine for a quick bite, but this isn’t a sit-down meal replacement; think a turkey sandwich at roughly 20–25 SAR or a chocolate croissant in the 10–15 SAR band. If you care about temperature, ask them to warm items; the microwave sits behind the counter and they’ll usually reheat in under two minutes.

Hours track the flight schedule in Terminal 1 rather than a strict 9–5; the shop generally opens several hours before the first long-haul outbound and keeps pouring coffee until late-night departures taper off. Don’t bank on a specific closing time if you land after midnight, but if flights are still leaving from T1, the lights at Dr. Café are usually still on. Tip: order and pay first, then grab a nearby seat by your actual gate and watch boarding screens from there instead of waiting at the counter.
