Broast

Near gate clusters in Terminal 1, Broast keeps it basic

Terminal 1 at JED does not overflow with sit-down options, so Broast ends up as a practical stop when you just want quick fried chicken before boarding. It sits airside in T1, so you only see it after security, which makes it handy if your Saudia or flynas flight departs from this terminal and you don’t want to walk back toward the larger food court areas.

Prices run in the mid-range for the airport, with chicken meals and sandwiches typically landing in the 25–45 SAR band, depending on size and sides. Portions lean generous compared to some other Terminal 1 fast-food counters, so a single meal box usually covers a full lunch between long-haul sectors. Expect counter service only and plastic seating; this is a “eat and go” stop, not a lounge replacement.

The move here is the classic broasted chicken: bone-in pieces with fries and a drink, or a simple chicken sandwich if you are tight on time before a flight to Riyadh or Jeddah’s domestic hops. Sides usually include fries and standard sauces; nothing fancy, but it beats boarding hungry then waiting 90 minutes for the first meal service on a medium-haul leg. Skip anything that looks like it has been sitting in the warmer too long and ask for a fresh batch if your layover allows 15 extra minutes.

Service speed varies with departure banks, especially around late-night long-haul waves from Terminal 1, so lines at Broast can stretch to 10–15 minutes. Factor that in if your boarding pass says “gate closes 30 minutes before departure,” which is common at JED. One practical tip: order drinks without ice so they last longer through boarding and the first part of the flight, where cabin service can be slow on busy Saudia sectors.
