Rideshare $10 discount on posted fare

Save $10 off your cab fare with TaxiPool

That flat $10 discount off the posted taxi fare is the whole point of using TaxiPool from Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) Terminal 1. TaxiPool runs as a rideshare-style option that pairs you with other passengers headed in a similar direction, but you still pay your own metered or posted rate minus the fixed $10. You still ride in a standard licensed taxi, not a private app car.

Typical fares from JAC to Jackson town center sit in the $40–$60 range depending on season and traffic on US-191, so TaxiPool usually drops your share into the low-$30s to $50 range. The program uses the same fare table that regular cabs use; the only change is that discount off whatever is printed or quoted. Drivers still run normal airport pickups right outside baggage claim at the single terminal.

TaxiPool operates whenever regular airport taxis run, which at JAC usually tracks the commercial flight schedule from the first arrivals around 8:00 a.m. to the last flights around 10:00 p.m. in peak season. There is no separate TaxiPool desk inside the terminal; you walk to the usual taxi stand about 50–100 yards from the main exit doors and ask the dispatcher or first driver in line about TaxiPool participation.

Most rides from JAC into town take 20–30 minutes, and TaxiPool can add 5–10 minutes if the driver swings by another hotel or condo complex along Broadway or Moose-Wilson Road. The $10 discount still applies even if the driver only finds one TaxiPool rider, so you never pay more than the posted solo cab fare. You can still tip in cash or card based on the pre-discount amount if you want to keep it simple for the driver.

If you land at a peak time with two or more arrivals close together, figure on a 5–15 minute wait at the curb while the dispatcher matches people for TaxiPool along similar routes, usually into Jackson or Teton Village. The stand is outdoors, so in January at 0°F you feel that; keep gloves handy while you wait for your TaxiPool spot in the queue. Watch for the small TaxiPool mention on the rate sheet on the taxi window so you know the car is in the program.

One tip: before you load bags, confirm with the driver that TaxiPool is applied and that you will see the $10 discount off the posted fare at the end of the ride, then snap a photo of the posted rate card for your records.
