Istanbul Airport, Istanbul, TR

Near the Main Terminal check-in hall, The Greenport fills gaps.

The Greenport sits landside in Istanbul Airport’s Main Terminal, so it works before security or when you’re meeting someone outside departures. It’s a straightforward café-restaurant setup: counter ordering, open seating, and views over the public hall rather than the gates. Figure it in if you reach IST more than 90 minutes before departure and don’t want to head through security yet.

Menu boards focus on café standards: espresso drinks, teas, soft drinks, and basic hot dishes. Expect prices slightly above central Istanbul, in the typical airport range where a coffee can run around 70–100 TRY and a simple main can push past 250 TRY. Portions skew toward single-plate meals rather than shared dishes, which works if you’ve got 30–40 minutes to eat between check-in and security.

Turnover moves at typical airport speed, not fast-food pace. Build in at least 20 minutes from order to exit if you sit for something hot, and closer to 10 minutes if you just grab pastry and coffee. Seating is standard tables and chairs with no power outlets at every spot, so don’t bank on charging multiple devices while you eat. Lighting is bright and very “terminal” rather than restaurant-style mood lighting.

There’s no credible online consensus about star dishes, problem items, or standout service at The Greenport, because detailed third-party reviews simply haven’t materialised yet. That means you’re essentially rolling with a generic airport option: fine for a quick bite, but nothing justifies going out of your way from a distant section of the Main building unless you already happen to be nearby for check-in.

Practical tip: if your flight leaves from a remote Main gate, clear security first and then eat airside instead of backtracking to The Greenport; walking across IST’s Main Terminal can easily chew 15–20 minutes each way.
