Carmel’s Bub’s Burgers, but at gate A11
This Main Terminal outpost at gate A11 brings the Carmel favorite into IND, opened as part of the 2022 concessions refresh that added more Indiana-grown names. It runs daily from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET, so you can grab a burger on both the first and last bank of departures.
Menu is straightforward: juicy cheeseburgers, fries, and shakes, with pricing in the $$ range by airport standards. A basic cheeseburger and fries lands around what you’d expect to pay for a sit-down chain in town, just with the airport premium reviewers call out as “fine but not worth it” compared with Carmel.
The move here is the signature cheeseburger, cooked to a legit medium if you ask and stacked the same way locals know from the original. If you only have 25–30 minutes before boarding from gates A8–A13, this fast-casual setup works better than a full-service spot, and it still feels local compared with grabbing a McChicken on the drive in.
Skip using this as a budget stop: if you’re counting dollars, one Google reviewer flatly says it’s “way better than grabbing McDonald’s” but still very much airport pricing. Fries and shakes add up quickly, and there’s no value menu, so plan on spending more than $15 per person for a full meal.
Watch out for timing during the 7:00–9:00 a.m. and 4:00–6:00 p.m. banks; lines form fast, and a made-to-order burger can push 10–15 minutes when flights to ORD and ATL all board at once. If your gate isn’t on Concourse A, factor in a 5–10 minute walk back.
Pro tip: order your cheeseburger and shake to go, then eat at the A11 power-seat clusters so you can charge, eat, and board in under 30 minutes.
