First 30 minutes in IND’s Hourly Parking are free
Hourly Parking sits in the Terminal Garage directly across from the Main terminal, so you walk from car to check-in in about 2–3 minutes under cover. Follow signs for the parking garage, then up to the Hourly level; it’s the closest parking to ticketing and baggage claim at Indianapolis International Airport.
Rates run on the higher side: after the first 30 free minutes, you pay by the hour, capped at a daily maximum of around typical terminal-garage pricing at major airports. This is intended for short stays, quick drop-offs, or meeting arriving passengers, not week-long trips. You take a ticket at the gate and pay at exit using cash or card.
The garage connects to the Main terminal via enclosed walkways, so you stay inside in rain, snow, or summer heat. From Hourly Parking to the TSA checkpoint is usually a 5–10 minute walk, even from the farther rows. Elevators and stairs link each parking level to the pedestrian bridges, which drop you near airline check-in counters.
Height clearance in the Terminal Garage is standard passenger-car friendly, but larger vans and tall trucks should check the posted limit at the entrance. Spaces are regular-width, and accessible parking spots sit close to the elevators on each level, with marked routes to the terminal doors about 200–300 feet away.
Practical tip: If you’re just doing a curb-style pickup, use Hourly Parking, park near the terminal-side elevators, check the flight status on your phone in the garage, and walk in only once the plane shows “Arrived” to keep your stay under an hour.
