Near the E food court, Texas Monthly News is your magazine stop

Texas Monthly News sits in Terminal E, after security, and runs as a grab-and-go newsstand more than a full convenience store. Think paperbacks, magazines, and bottled drinks, not hot food. If your flight leaves from an E gate, this is the quickest option to grab reading material without trekking back toward Terminal C.

Expect typical airport pricing, with single bottled drinks often around a dollar or two higher than downtown Houston, and snacks priced in the same marked-up range. The shop leans on print media and travel basics, so you’ll see newspapers, a shelf of magazines, and a few racks of chips, candy, and gum. If you need a full meal, head to one of the Terminal E restaurants first and use this spot as a last-minute top-up.

Hours in Terminal E shops usually track the main bank of departures, roughly early morning through late evening, tied to heavy international traffic. That means Texas Monthly News is generally open in time for the 6:00–7:00 a.m. departures and still trading during the 9:00–10:00 p.m. wave, but don’t count on it for true red-eyes. If you have a 30-minute layover between E gates, you can usually duck in and out in under five minutes.

One practical tip: buy water or snacks here if you’re heading to the higher E40s–E gates; walking back from the far end of Terminal E can add 10–15 minutes round-trip and most of those gates have fewer retail options clustered right at the door.
