Gate-side cocktails in Terminal C

Five minutes from most C gates, Alchemy Cocktail Lounge sits in the main Terminal C concourse and works as a last drink stop before United departures. It’s past security, so you’re fine nursing something until boarding starts. Seating is mostly barstools and a few small tables, so think quick sit-down, not lingering for hours. Pricing tracks typical IAH terminal rates: expect $14–$18 for cocktails and $8–$12 for beer or wine.

Drink list leans cocktail-focused, with spirits-forward mixes rather than frozen sugar bombs. If you keep it simple with a whiskey or tequila base, you’ll probably be happier than ordering anything too Instagram-heavy. Beer taps usually cover a couple of Texas labels alongside mainstream options, and pours come in standard 12–16 oz glasses. Food, if available during your visit, tends to be small bar bites in the $10–$18 range rather than a full meal replacement, so don’t plan on a full dinner here.

Hours can mirror Terminal C peaks, opening in the morning and often running to late evening to catch the last United flights, but they do flex by day and season, so check the current board as you walk by. There’s no Priority Pass tie-in and no lounge-style day passes; this is straight pay-as-you-go bar service. If your layover in C is under 45 minutes, grab a drink only if your gate is within clear sight of the bar so you don’t miss a quiet boarding call.

Tip: If you’re connecting through another terminal, use the Skyway to C, have one drink at Alchemy, then ride back; budget at least 25 minutes total for the round trip and boarding buffer.
