The Fruteria

B

The only fruit stand in IAH Terminal B

In Terminal B at George Bush Intercontinental, The Fruteria is one of the few spots leaning into fresh fruit instead of burgers and fries. It sits post-security in B, in the middle of a line-up that skews heavy on fried fast food. Think cups of cut mango, pineapple, or mixed fruit rather than a Number 3 combo with fries.

Pricing runs in typical airport territory: expect around $6–$9 for fruit cups and similar for simple snacks or drinks. You’ll see bottled juices and soft drinks in the same price band as other Terminal B vendors. If you’re connecting through IAH and only have 20–30 minutes at the gate, The Fruteria works as a grab-and-go option without committing to a full sit-down meal.

The menu is fairly tight: fresh fruit cups, chips, and a few Latin-leaning snacks instead of full plates. You’re not getting a hot entrée here like you would at a sit-down spot in Terminal C or E, but you can put together a light snack fast. If you’ve already hit the barbecue or a burger in another terminal, this is a cleaner follow-up before a long flight.

Seating is limited near most food in Terminal B, and The Fruteria is no exception, so plan to take your cup back to your gate in B rather than hunting for a proper table. Since we couldn’t find consistent hours published, treat it like many IAH concessions: usually open from early morning bank (around 6 a.m.) through the late-afternoon departure push, with gaps possible on slow nights.

Practical tip: if you land in A or C and crave fruit, only walk to Terminal B for The Fruteria if you’ve got at least 45 minutes between flights; otherwise, grab something closer and save your steps.
