Terminal A’s Chick-fil-A is the default chain move at IAH.
In Terminal A, this is the Chick-fil-A regulars name first when they just want something familiar in A/B and don’t have time to ride the Skyway to C or E. It sits post-security in Terminal A, in the older part of the airport where national brands are thinner on the ground compared to the newer E pier. Think quick chicken sandwich, fries, and sweet tea before a regional hop.
Pricing stays in normal airport fast-food territory: expect about $4–$6 for a Chicken Sandwich or Spicy Deluxe and around $2–$3 for waffle fries or a drink. Combos usually land in the $8–$11 range, which is cheaper than most sit-down spots near A20–A30. It’s a good way to eat for under $15 and still have something recognizable if you’re flying out on United Express or another carrier using A.
Standard menu: Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, nuggets in 8- or 12-count, waffle fries, lemonade, and breakfast items like chicken biscuits if you hit it before about 10:30 a.m. The sauces are the usual line-up, including Chick-fil-A Sauce and Polynesian. If you care about speed, nuggets plus fries move faster than custom salads during the lunch push around 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
Complaints online are less about this outlet and more about IAH Terminal A in general: people say better local food is in Terminals C and E, especially near the newer United gates around C North and the E international pier. Sticking with Chick-fil-A in A is basically the “I have under 45 minutes before boarding” compromise, especially if you’re connecting off a regional jet and don’t want to risk a train ride.
Practical tip: lines spike in the late afternoon bank around 3–5 p.m., so if your flight out of gate A17 or nearby boards at 4:15 p.m., grab food before you head down to the end of the pier.
