Terminal D’s quiet outlier among IAH lounges

Most lounge chatter at IAH fixates on the KLM Crown Lounge and United Clubs, but the Air France Lounge by gate D18 stays off the radar. It sits post-security in Terminal D, serving Air France and SkyTeam premium customers plus Priority Pass during certain hours. If you’re flying AF from D18 or connecting through D from C or E, this is one of the calmer spots near the international gates.

The lounge usually opens in the early afternoon to line up with Air France departures from Terminal D and then runs into the late evening bank. Check your day-of hours in the Air France app or Priority Pass, as timings shift with the schedule and can change around holidays. Access is standard: business-class or elite on Air France/KLM and partners from IAH, or a qualifying lounge membership when listed as available.

Food is classic contract-lounge fare, not a full meal replacement. Expect finger foods, basic snacks, and light cold items, closer to what you’d see in a smaller United Club at terminals B or C rather than a Polaris-style spread. Drinks lean on self-serve wine, beer, and simple spirits, enough to kill time before a long-haul but not a destination bar. If you want a real sit-down meal, plan on grabbing something in Terminal D’s public area before heading here.

Seating runs along the windows near D18, with a mix of lounge chairs and small tables. Power outlets sit between some seats, so bring a fully charged battery if you’re working on a 3–4 hour layover and can’t find one of the fewer wall plugs. Wi‑Fi rides on the airport network for IAH, which is typically fast enough for streaming and email, similar to what you’d get near gates D6–D10.

Tip: If your flight departs from nearby gates like D12 or D15, keep an eye on boarding times and leave the lounge by T‑45; the short walk through Terminal D still stacks up once the evening international crowds hit security and the concourse.
