Gate C12 has a bar called Adrenaline that almost no one talks about

Adrenaline sits near gate C12 in Terminal C, past security, and stays quieter than most IAH spots simply because people overlook it. It’s a local American bar and grill setup, not a branded chain you recognize on sight. If you’ve got a United flight from C and 45 spare minutes, it beats standing in the Starbucks line by C10.

Menu basics stick to American bar food: think burgers around the $15–$18 mark, salads in the low teens, and shareable appetizers in the $10–$14 range. Draft beers typically run about $8–$10 and mixed drinks hit the low double digits. Expect table service rather than a grab-and-go counter, so plan at least 30 minutes if you want a sit-down meal before a flight out of C12–C20.

Layout is standard high-tops and bar seating, with power outlets at a chunk of the bar stools and a few wall seats closest to C12. TVs usually run ESPN or news, so it works for killing 30–60 minutes on a layover between Houston and another domestic hop. Being post-security in Terminal C means you’re fine if you’re flying United mainline or regional out of the C concourse.

Food quality at IAH spots like the Pappadeaux near A20 or the Ember location in Terminal E tends to get more online chatter; Adrenaline just doesn’t show up in many IAH trip reports. That usually points to middle-of-the-road food and service: not a destination, but not a horror story either. Treat it as a backup when chains near C10–C14 are slammed.

Practical tip: if your flight departs from gates C1–C9, budget a 7–10 minute walk from Adrenaline at C12 back to the lower-numbered gates so you’re not speed-walking with a fresh drink in you when boarding starts.
