Right off ticketing in the Main Terminal
This Hudson sits in the Main Terminal pre-security, handy if you’re meeting someone by the United or American check-in islands and need souvenirs before they land. It’s a standard Hudson layout: magazines up front, snacks and drinks in the middle, and DC-themed souvenirs pushed along the walls. Figure 5–10 minutes to scan the whole shop if you’re just grabbing a magnet or T-shirt on the way to the security lines for concourses A, B, C, D, or Z.
Hours usually track the main flight banks, roughly 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., though late-night international departures out of IAD can shift that by an hour either way. Pricing sits at typical airport gift-shop levels: keychains around $6–$8, basic DC mugs in the $12–$18 range, and T-shirts closer to $20–$30. You’ll also find last‑minute travel basics like phone cables, neck pillows, and TSA‑sized toiletries in a small section near the back wall.
Satisfaction here comes from speed, not personality; staff ring up purchases quickly so you can get to the AeroTrain or shuttle out to concourses A–D without stressing the boarding time on your 7:30 p.m. departure. If you want more upscale regional gifts, you’ll probably do better in some of the concourse shops closer to the B gates, but this Hudson is fine for quick DC souvenirs that actually say “Washington D.C.” or show the Capitol dome.
Tip: If your ride drops you at the Main Terminal and you forgot souvenirs, shop Hudson first, then head straight to security; you won’t find another general gift shop until after the train or shuttle ride to your concourse.
