CNN Newsstand

B

Near B41 in Terminal B, CNN Newsstand is the standard IAD grab-and-go news and snacks stop. You’ll see it along the concourse, post-security, between mid-B gates and the higher 40s. Think magazines, a few newspapers, drinks, chips, candy bars, and basic travel gear rather than a full convenience store.

Hours at CNN Newsstand in Terminal B generally track flight banks, opening early for the 6:00–7:00 departures and staying open into the late evening push. Prices trend higher than off-airport: expect around $3–$4 for bottled drinks, $2–$3 for candy, and magazine covers in the $8–$12 range. It’s a quick in-and-out stop if you’re walking from the AeroTrain up the concourse toward gates B60–B79.

Stock here leans national: big-name titles, a few regional papers, and standard brands for snacks and gum. You’ll also find basics like phone charging cables, simple headphones, travel-size pain relievers, and neck pillows, all hanging near the front racks. If you want a print newspaper before a transatlantic flight out of B, this is one of the few places in the terminal that still carries them consistently.

Lines spike around the top of the hour when multiple B-gate departures board at once, especially in the 7:00–9:00 and 16:00–19:00 windows. Card payments dominate; have a backup card ready if a tap terminal acts up. Fastest move: grab drinks and snacks from the coolers along the side wall first, then magazines, so you’re not stepping out of line.

Tip: if your flight leaves from gates B70–B79, stop at CNN Newsstand on the walk from the AeroTrain station; there’s less choice once you get down to the far end of B.
