Vino Volo

B ★ 3.7 $$$$

Wine flights and quiet seats at the far end of C

Gate C24-ish is where you’ll find Vino Volo, IAD’s wine bar out on the far end of Concourse C. It’s post-security, in Terminal C, but you listed it as Terminal B; plan on the mobile lounge or walk if you’re coming from A/B or D. Figure a 7–10 minute walk from the shuttle drop to the bar if your gate is mid‑C. Rating sits around 3.7, which matches the “good wine, airport pricing” vibe.

Pricing is solidly $$$. Think $15–20+ per glass and $20–30 for wine flights, noticeably higher than most city wine bars. Multiple reviews call it “spendy,” and they’re right. If you just want a fast $8 beer, this is the wrong stop; if you care about what’s in the glass, it starts to make sense.

Signature move here is a themed wine flight plus a cheese or charcuterie board. Regulars mention light bites only: cheese, cured meats, maybe a small sandwich or flatbread, not full entrées. Figure a board in the $18–25 range, good for one hungry person or two people snacking. If you’re legitimately starving before a 6‑hour transatlantic from C8, eat something substantial in B or the Main Terminal first.

FlyerTalk folks say they only trek to Vino Volo when their gate is nearby in C and they’ve got at least 45 minutes free. The bar stools fill up around peak evening departure banks, so some people order a flight and board, then slide over to the adjacent seating area. Late evenings, Google reviews note it can be relatively empty compared to nearby fast food at C14/C18, which makes it one of the calmer spots on C/D.

Watch out for the walk: if your United flight is boarding in 25 minutes from D10, this is a bad idea. Build in a 10–15 minute buffer to settle the check and get back to your gate.

Tip: Check your actual gate on the United app before heading here; if it flips from C to D while you’re sipping a flight, leave as soon as they pour the last glass.
