Terminal Parking sits right in front of the IAD Main Terminal and runs about a 3-minute walk to the doors, with a posted daily rate of $40. This is IAD’s on-airport top tier for access: no shuttle, no train, just park, cross the road, and you’re inside the ticketing hall serving A, B, C, D, and Z gates via the AeroTrain or mobile lounges.

The lot works best for short trips of 1–2 days because that $40 per 24 hours adds up quickly compared to the garages at roughly half the price when pre-booked. Compared with Garage 1 and Garage 2, which feed the Main Terminal via covered walkways and buses, Terminal Parking trades cost for about a 5–10 minute time savings each way. Heavy bags, car seats for two kids, or mobility issues often tip people into paying the $40; you cut out waiting at a garage bus stop at 05:30 or 23:30 and just walk straight across the crosswalk to check-in.
