Gate A32 is your landmark for the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at IAD.
This is a small outstation lounge in Concourse A, sitting right by gate A32 and mainly serving the single nightly Virgin Atlantic departure. Think solid upgrade over the gate area for VS Upper Class and partner premium passengers, not a destination lounge you plan your day around.
The Clubhouse sits airside in Terminal A, past security, so you’re only using this if you’re already departing from A or willing to walk over from B. Most reports peg it as quiet in the mid‑afternoon, then filling up in the two hours before the evening VS flight pulls out.
Hours typically track the Virgin Atlantic schedule, opening a few hours before the London flight and closing shortly after boarding. If your departure is after the last VS flight, don’t count on this lounge being open; check the day’s flight times before you rely on it.
Access is mainly for Virgin Atlantic Upper Class, Flying Club Gold, and eligible Delta or other SkyTeam partners when booked in business or with proper status; Priority Pass and day passes generally don’t get you in. If you’re flying out of gates A20–A32 on a VS or partner ticket, the walk from security to the lounge runs about 10–15 minutes at a normal pace.
Food and drink skew better than a standard US contract lounge, but still scaled for a small space and one nightly long‑haul. Expect a short made‑to‑order or counter menu rather than a giant buffet, plus a proper bar with decent spirits. Think pre‑flight snack and a couple of drinks, then save your real meal for onboard service to London.
Regulars on blogs mention they time arrival to 60–90 minutes before departure, not three hours. The space isn’t huge, seating is tuned to that single VS flight, and you’ll get more value by spending most of your time elsewhere in the terminal and dropping in closer to boarding.
Tip: if your boarding pass shows an A‑concourse gate other than A32, budget at least 10 minutes from the Clubhouse back to your gate so you’re not sprinting when Virgin starts boarding Upper Class early.
