Gate-side Opium stop in T1 for last-minute gifts
Opium sits airside in Rajiv Gandhi International Airport’s T1, so you reach it after security and before most boarding gates. That makes it a practical stop if you still have 20–30 minutes before departure and want to pick up something on the walk to your gate. Signage in T1 points to retail near the main departure seating area, and Opium is part of that cluster.
This is a standard airport shop under the Opium brand name, trading in typical travel retail rather than duty-free liquor or electronics megastore stock. You’re looking at mid-range prices by Indian airport standards, higher than city shops but in line with other T1 outlets at HYD. Expect packaged items that are easy to stow in a cabin-size bag and carry onto a domestic flight from Terminal 1.
Hours generally track the T1 departure bank, opening for early-morning flights and staying active through late-evening departures in Hyderabad’s domestic schedule. If your boarding pass shows a late-night flight out of T1, you usually still see Opium’s lights on when most passengers are queuing at nearby gates. For very first-wave departures around 04:00, allow extra time in case they open closer to the main 06:00 rush.
Think of Opium as a last checkpoint: grab a gift, a small personal item, or a filler purchase to round out remaining rupees before you board from T1. Check your gate on the FIDS screens first, then walk toward that concourse and use Opium as your “turn-back” point so you don’t cut it too close to final call.
