The Private 4-Wheelers lot at Rajiv Gandhi International (T1) is the default choice for locals driving themselves, especially on 7–14 day trips. It’s on-airport, supervised, and about a 5-minute walk from the terminal, so you roll your own bags instead of waiting for a shuttle or handing keys to an off-site yard.

Pricing is officially slab-based, not a clean flat 24-hour cap: the HYD tariff starts with a 0–30 minute band and then climbs through higher bands as time increases. For genuine long stay, real-world reports line up around ₹500–700 per day, which puts a 10-day trip in the ₹5,000–7,000 range and makes the listed ₹750 daily feel more like a ceiling than a bargain.

Locals regularly call RGIA parking “among the costliest in India” after recent hikes, comparing it unfavourably with Mumbai and Delhi for similar durations. Comment threads and TV segments complain about “loot” and highlight that a two‑week stay can cost what you’d pay for valet at an upscale city hotel, not a typical Indian long-term airport lot.

Because charges are slab-based, even a small delay can bite: waiting an extra 10–15 minutes for someone to come out of T1 can kick you into the next slab and add a surprising chunk to what you thought was a quick pickup bill. Drivers using it as a short-stay lane need eyes on the clock, not just on the arrivals door.

Regulars run the maths: for trips longer than about 3–4 days from most Hyderabad neighbourhoods, two Ola/Uber rides usually beat on-airport parking. They still swallow the premium for 7–14 day absences when CCTV and on-site security feel worth more than leaving the car at home or in a cheaper off-airport plot.
